These are now called Yardley Gardens. Typical design of almshouses arranged around a small square. (Theres also an associated nursing home across the road built I think, around the 1980s.
The original almshouses c1800 were next to the old school, the extract below originally posted by the late Dennis Williams. The almshouse buildings were demolished in the early 1900s.
