It was 1970 Lyn - the Germans did us in Mexico............... You have brought back the pain, Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:D

thought it was about the 70s...right well im still keeping me eye on you just in case...:D

first pic is the woodman in its heyday..it has closed that many times over recent years and re opened but not anymore...work is now going on in there and it looks to me like it will now be seperate flats...only one pub window left and the old clubroom door...such a shame but on the bright side the building is safe and still standing..

I have the garage next door( white van outside) as far as we know its offices we had the planning office consult us about it,ive been their 30 odd years and have seen the decline in the woodman, at one time you couldn't get in there at lunchtime, people would be stood on the pavement drinking, the last few years your lucky to see two people in there.

by the way ive just retired my son is running swallow garage now named after the raincoat factory of which the building is part of

hello edd i spoke to someone in your garage last week then and he said he thought apartments..must admit it did look more like offices to me so thanks for confirming that for us...yes its a shame that the woodman is no more just like many other old back streets pubs they are now becoming a rarity to see open..our mom used to do a few hours in the woodman in the 70s and in the 80s i worked at the pelican and the lord clifden..hope you enjoy your retirement edd and hope to see more of you on the forum and how nice to name your garage after the swallow raincoat factory..
