Hi,
I went to Woodlands Primary school from 1977-1983. When i looked for it on Googlemap, I was sad to see it is now part of Solihull College!! When did this happen? I left Brum in 1987 so i have lost touch with whats been going on, but i would be very grateful if someone out there knows when it was demolished to make way for the campus. Also I would love to hear from anyone who went to school with me, especially Jennifer Smart and Jackie Franklin. Thanks to anyone who can help.

The Chelmsley Woodlands Campus of Solihull college opened in 2006/7 before this it was housed at what was formerly Simon Digby Comprehensive in Partridge close.

Many students travelled from Chelmsley to Solihull to attend college so the new campus is a real bonus for Chelmsley.

There is also a secondary school in place of Smiths Wood Comp.it is called Smiths Wood Sports college.

If you came back to visit you would not recognise Chelmsley most of it is being knocked down and rebuilt.

Thanks very much for that! When I came to brum In 2000 i could hardly recognise the Bull ring and markets. It made me a bit sad. Its not good to see St Martins church so trapped in now.

Hi Tracey,

I went to Woodlands primary school from Sept 1979 (Infant Reception Class) through to 1986 when I left Junior School to go to Smiths Wood Comp.

So we were there at similar times, do you remember any of the teachers? Mr Jones was the headmaster. Other teachers I remember were Mrs Hammond, Mrs Buckle, Mr Howe, Mr Bravey

Good memories...

Hi
I had Mr Farrimond, Miss Wheatley. I remember Mr Jones.
i was in Oak House.
i have managed to get in touch with a few of my old classmates. dont we all look old!! haha

Good to see those teacher's names and I had Bravy in the 3rd year I think. Farrimond was next to our 4th year class but we had a relief teacher called Tipping who replaced one that went on leave (forget their name).

Farrimond wore odd shoes when he was reffing the football. Mr Jones would always take the spelling test whilst smoking a cigar. I remember he was Welsh too.

Jesus, it's coming back now!
