Hi
I am looking for information on the above. I have some information on AJ and some pre 1942 photographs
AJ was born in Millom Cumberland, married to Annie ? died 1942 buried Erdington Parish Church in family grave He may have lived at 18 High St Erdington
While in Millom he was a shoe and boot repairer. He was still in Millom and unmarried in 1911. We found his death notice in family papers. Strangely I was in Saltley from 1965 to 1968 and worked in Erdington from 1971 to 1985 and no one in the family mentioned him! Any help would be good
cheers

Re: Alfred John and Annie Wood Erdington

In Kellys, Alfred John Wood was listed as a boot & shoe repairer at 18 High St Erdington from 1932 until 1943. In 1944 it is listed as Mrs Annie Wood, boot & shoe repairer. She carried on until sometime between 1956 and 1962, after which it became a florists. Alfred is likely to have been there longer, but the directory I have before 1932 is 1921, and all I can say is that he is not listed in that.
