The above person was employed by the Duke of Buccleugh in Langholm, Dumfriesshire during the early 1800s and died there in 1832. The only reference to this unusual name is in Warwickshire where a Samuel Wolves was born at Budbrooke in 1765. parents Daniel Wolves and Hannah Philips.
There is also several children baptised during the 1780s/1790s in St Philips, Birmingham, parents Samuel Wolves and Ann ?
Also the National Burial Register provides details of seven individuals with this surname who died during the same period (1780s/1790s) who are buried in St Mary, Whittall Street, Birmingham although I have no knowledge, at this moment, of who their parents were. However some of the christian names are the same as those of the Wolves children baptised in St Philips Birmingham.
I would very much appreciate hearing from anyone who is also researching this family or has any information that could assist me.
