I worked there for a short period in the early 1970's. My uncle Tom Townsend was personel officer (that's how I got the job !). My cousins Paul Chiles and Roy Hartley were also employed there.
The Company Chairman was hardly ever seen except, to have a wander around on Christmas Eve. He would put you in mind of "Mr Grace". I recall he came down to the drawing office and said to a draughtsman "Happy Christmas, you are new aren't you ? . How long have you been with us". The guy replied 24 years Sir"
