evening janice..many thanks for your efforts...this really is turning into a mystery now i was told that it has been written somewhere that william is buried in an unmarked grave..question is where..clutching at straws here but when i checked warstone lane and key hill online there are about 16 taskers at warstone lane..there is a william tasker buried 1895 i was just wondering if the date has been transcribed wrong..its a pity that no ages are given for their burials..at least i couldnt find any

I have just done a search for a William Tasker died 1895 in Birmingham and come up with a blank. So you may be right in thinking the date has been transcribed wrongly. It is certainly worth a check.
ahh ahh janice i have also think that his dad also william died in 1880 and there is a william tasker buried 1880 also at warstone lane...now i need to find out who i go to to confirm the age of the 1895 burial at warstone...
Hi Lyn, just wondering if he was known as something else? I spent years looking for Charles Joseph (census) only to find that he was known as Joseph Charles. Another one, William Henry, appeared on his son's MC as Harry and on his own DC as Henry!
Also, was there a coroner's inquest? If so it may be worth looking at this. I found my gt grandmother's at Central Library.
hi pen many thanks for your ideas but i have a feeling that the burial dated could have been transcribed wrongly on the warstone lane site...i have an idea that the original records for warstone lane and key hill are held at handsworth cem so i could give them a phone call...

hi janice...i have found a death index on ancestry..william tasker b 1831 died 1895 birm...so it looks like this is the one at warstone lane... back to the drawing board me thinks
just been talking to someone who found some info on william tasker ages ago and according to what is written he is buried at yardley unmarked grave...i need to talk to them again on monday to double check their records as they told me he was not there so everything on hold again folks
this has just come through to me...the site of william taskers burial yardley...does anyone recognise this shot as being yardley cem and crem or could it be of yardleys old church looks like yardley crem and cem to me...
I will double check Yardley Old Church online in case I missed it. Have just checked and there were only 3 burials in 1898 - 2 women and a Frederick so definitely no William listed there.
My information from a good source is that Pte William Tasker is buried at Yardley Crematorium and Cemetery ; Grave8276, Plot 3E, Attached is plan of grave plot (unmarked) and photo, sent to me by my informant.
