William or William Edward St?

knowlegable brummie
Silly little query really but it matters to me. An ancestor gives his address in the 1911 census as Wiliam Edward St. That's what he wrote so I feel he was right. The cover of a book I am reading "Living Back to Back" by Chris Upson is a photograph of William St. No "search and find" facility will reveal if these are the same street. If the book is wrong (ever so slightly) the people on the cover could be my folks. Any ideas please?

I was born and brought up in William Edward St, Balsall Heath, i think William Street is a different place

In 1912 there is listed a William st in Handsworth, one in lozells, and one off Islington row. William edward st is separate from these
