Hi Folks.

Does anyone on the forum have a subscription to the "Times On Line" at all.

Need a look up for a death please in 1983 (February 22nd)

William A Evetts.

Appreciate the help if anyone has a subscription please.

Procat.

Greatly appreciated.

I am researching this man on behalf of my great uncle (90 and still going strong bless him), he had been led to believe that he was knighted at one point, sadly I have had to tell him no, it wasn't correct, but he has been chuffed to bits at this mans army career.

He has been hard to track down because of his army career in the Royal Garrison Artillery, but by the wording on his obit, it would seem that his wife (Name unknown thus far) was deceased by 1983, BUT it gives me three children to work from in my research.

Procat, once again, many thanks, greatly appreciated.

Dibs.

Now that is very strange.

I reckon it is the same couple and they had a second registration for some reason. Perhaps because the brides names are reversed?

More of a puzzle :-)

1973? I have his sister Diana born around 1920, just after their parents marriage,

soooooooooooo, Richard was a late child or marrying late in life.

Certainly keeping the army connection going.

And to think William Alfred Evetts family (both sides)came from traditional brummie stock, amazing how his family climbed the social ladder from the back streets of Birmingham (Button workers) to marrying a brigadiers daughter.

Truly amazing

And her Christian name "Sari"

Procat, you are a "STAR" Thank You.

Amazing where you can go isn't it?

That is all I was able to find on the family.

I wonder if the bride's father has seen service in India?

With a daughter named "Sari" it stands a good chance :-)

Thanks for all your help, greatly appreciated Procat.

At Lucas Aerospace 1961 one of the directors was Albert? "Bert" Evetts who had been an Army Major in WW2, i believe he was born in Birmingham, maybe there is a connection?. Len.

Hi Len.

a coincidence?

We managed to track William Evetts to his demise,
it seems after the great war he went into the Eastern Gas Board
based in Watford, he retired in Watford and went to live in Oxfordshire
I have been busy tracing his family back to his humble beginnings
in the back streets of Birmingham.

Appreciate your input :-)

Cheers.
