Phil

Gone, but not forgotten.
I'm glad to see everyone joining in, how about this one. Any ideas?

Is it Saltley area, just down from the Rock, round the corner from the Custard House, there's a Garage opposite now, from this you can guess I can't remember the name of the road, an age thing I think.

Hi
that is mosely rd
and on the oppersite side of the mosely road just before the swimming baths in the fiftys
and possible sixty before they finished next to a case makers firm

somethings saying Golden Hillock Rd, late 1950s if thats an 100E van, dunno why though - years before my time.

Hi Astonian,

You are of course correct It is Timms Garage on Moseley Road Balsall Heath just before the library & swimming baths. I past by this place 5 days a week for 4 years on my way to school, and of course every time I went swimming with my free pass.

If you look closely you can see the two lads in the photo have rolled towels under their arms. It looks as if they are on their way home from the baths.

gloves all night as you could drnk inthere until six .and get the break fast
or on the way to the old coach and horses as she opened the side door around six for these guys then ;

Astonian

The best T bone steak in the Golden Gloves to be had anywhere in Birmingham, the club was a bit ropey though.
