Anyone any idea where this bakers van is aprked. It is labelled Bedford delivery van, Hawleys bakery, and i did wonder if it was at the bakery. With that archway there certainly was some business round the back at some time. In 1940, and 50s the bakery was on moseley road near the corner of kyrwicks lane

I'm gonna have to use my LOAF to work this one out. Mind you a photo would help me stop making a BLOOMER...

Greetings Alf. Yep It's a difficult start for Man U. Last week-end they struggled against lowly Chelsea, so I don't give them much of a shout against a really big team...still you never know, they might just sneak a draw.

Sorry. here is the photo. You might need new glasses. i think i need a new head ! Ignore the title on the photo as i don't think it is the bakery

Oh, come on. I think this sort of humour is getting a little STALE now, I mean, you're making a WHOLE MEAL of it, SPREADING IT about like this. Do you want JAM on it too?
(Hope I didn't make a BLOOMER there!)

called moseley rd remand home in those days prior to the sixtes
a remand institute for the kids from the courts
carry on up to the traffic lights turn which was the juntion of moseley rd and belgrave rd [ and it was a beatiful rd in them days a very tree lined rd in fact the whole surrounding neibour hood was
any way turn left at the lights and walk down about a hundred yards
and cross over and i beleive the rd was whyte rd and on the corner was the delivery
best wishes astonian ;;;

The men who are delivering the bread were earning their BREAD AND BUTTER.

Seriously, I don't know where that van is parked. Looks like Astonian does though.

Anyone else for a SLICE of this action?
I'll just listen to this David Gates CD while I'm waiting...

Did I tell you my grandaughters hamster is brown bread. Shame. She is having another and naming it Hovis. Jean.
