I will say you were Jean, but that's only because I don't Know where Fore Street is! (except for one in Trowbridge, Wiltshire LOL)

That's got to be around 1963-4 Mike, Daimler Fleetline demonstrator 565 CRW was new in 1963 and was probably working the 14 route, the usual trial for demonstration buses.

Thanks, thats interesting Lloyd, in 63-64 was the the 14 not going from Old Square any more?

Ah! There's a snag. I thought it did come up Union Street, but on checking that was the Night bus NS14. Perhaps they were testing it for that? It doesn't look like it's picking folk up.
 
Just noticed - on the first picture you can read the bus stop sign has the route number 43 ( Nechells of course), so it probably was a regular working after the Old Square terminus had been wrecked. Can't say when, as I was out of Brum by then, but I think it was not before 1963.

that,s the first reference to the 43 bus i,ve heard,
i have been asking if any of our bus experts on here,
if they have a picture of a 43 bus,living where i lived the top of Cromwell st
we had the choice of the 14 and the 43 from old square to home
but have,nt been able to get one. such is life regards Derek.
