Where is This 58

Phil

Gone, but not forgotten.
As I don't know the exact location where this picture was taken, the district will suffice, but I do want you to tell me who the two men are and what is going on?

Are these the rent collectors from the Council?

Michael,

It looks a bit like that doesn't it, they have caught the one poor old dear and all the rest are hiding behind the curtains.

Nice thought, but its wrong sorry.

Is it the 1959 General Election and it could be Hollingworth who stood for Labor in All Saints.

Hi Phil
Is it anything to do with the making of the film Cathy Come Home in Hingestion Street
Maggie

I agree with Maggie and Judy. It's director Ken Loach and the writer of Kathy Come Home, Jeremy Sandford.

Allthough a couple of you knew the location and/or what was going on. I am going to give it to Anne as she is the one who ticked all the boxes and answered all the questions.

It is as stated a meeting on the set of Cathy Come Home in Winson Green with director Ken Loach and writer Jeremy Sanford.

I remember watching this film, does anybody have memories of it being filmed.

I liked Carol White who was Cathy, she also starred in Poor Cow.
she died in 1991 aged 50 .
ragga .

I have to say that Ray Brooks performance as the husband was pretty good but I much preferred his portrayal as Robbie Box in "The Gambler" some years later on BBC in the seventies.

He's in some soap series at the moment isn't he?
