I suppose it could be a theatre queue, but the location has got me stumped. So I'll take a guess at the Theatre Royal, New St.

The building looks the same, but it looks a little later and why would the women in mikejee's photo be queueing? Where is the building?

Macca you've added the bit I wanted. My caption doesn't mention it being christmas as LadyLinda says, but it probably was, as it is labelled as people queuing outside E.H.James for the first whiskey to be sold after WW1. E.H.James was on the East side of dale end on the corner with Henns Walk

cracking pic mike...may i save it please....and as i dont know me east from me west can you tell me where exactly in dale end was henns walk....i know im a pest but i have to get the locations in my head like i can get a feel for the pics.....

Does this make it clear Lyn? I've marked E.H.James in red. I think the building on the far right must be the frontage that is in fron t of the YMCA Hall.
