When researching my Family Tree looking for my Grandparents. Thomas William Green my Grandfather B1867 Bordesley and his wife Maria Rhodes B1871 Aston.
Thomas William died of TB 24 Dec 1901. His widow Maria Rhodes then married my father, his brother, James John Green B1872.
A bit unusual at that time but never the less legal. At this stage I started to get confused.
My Granny Maria Rhodes B1871 nee Green was still my Granny now Maria Rhodes nee Green ( nee Green) is she my maternal Grandmother
or is there another title?
I am a bit puzzled.
Les Green
p.s. Keep well that goes for all of you.

A little confusing but...

Your grandparents were Thomas William Green and Maria Rhodes?

If so then Maria would always be your grandmother and technically I suppose she would also be your great aunt because she married your great uncle, James John Green.

Also nee relates to your birth name, so Maria would always have been nee Rhodes, even if she had married 20 times.
