Walker Sarah

Charlie

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
Could someone kindly look up Sarah Walker for me, please? We think she was born or christened in 1837 at Castle Donington and her parents were George Walker and Mary ?????
It's possible the Walkers' were boat people in Castle Donington.
Many thanks
Charlie

Re: Sarah Walker

Just checked back with a cousin. The 1851 census is right, but Sarah Walker's 1839 birth isn't! She was definately the daughter of George Walker and a Mary Ann Coterill or Fielding. Maybe she was born before registration (1837) and I need to go back to Parish Records. My cousin has Sarah's Marriage Certtificate to Francis Cameron, parents names as above.
Can anyone help?

Re: Sarah Walker

Charlie is this her from the IGI?
Sarah Walker Birth: 1838 Castle Donnington, Leicester, England
Death: 04 APR 1893
Marriage: Frances Cameron Birth: 1837 Burton Upon Trent, Stafford, England
Death: 21 DEC 1916 Death: 04 APR 1893

Re: Sarah Walker

I could only find the same one as Bren, However as you said that the family were boat people Sarah may not have been registered until 1839.
Has anyone checked the parentage on the 1839 Sarah? You can say when applying that you only want it if the parents are George Walker and a Mary

Re: Sarah Walker

I also had a good look on the IGI and had just the one that Pom found and that is a submitted entry

Re: Sarah Walker

Bren and Pom. Thanks for looking. The Sarah Walker on the IGI, married to Francis Cameron is the one my cousin's after - but can't find on the GRO.
The 1839 Sarah Walker is also a rellie, but not the one we're looking for. Maybe, as you say, most of the family were boat people and that makes it all the more difficult.
Again, many thanks for your help.
