Vittoria Restaurant, Frederick Street

Sparks68

knowlegable brummie
Has anyone got any memories or information on this British Restaurant that once stood at 43 Frederick Street in the Jewellery Quarter?

Type of food it served, example menus or menu copies?
When it opened and when it closed (I think it's circa 1971)?
Owners or Publicans Names?
Decorations and style of the interior?

I'd love to hear any stories anyone has

Ah, thanks mikejee. I checked the 1972 copy in the library on Friday and couldn't see it, but I didn't check any further after that, so maybe it was open a bit longer than I thought. There is not a lot of information online about it. I have found a couple of photos but little else.

Hello Sparks68.
I used to work in the Jewellery quarter in Birmingham in the late 60’s and got to know the various Jewellery outlets, pubs and characters at the time.
I’m quite sure you are referring to the Vittoria Restaurant in Frederick Street.
I had my Wedding reception at this Restaurant in 1973 and it was Excellant, food and staff were great, and a brilliant night.

There are two or three references to the Vittoria, which is said was formerly a British Restaurant, in this thread.
