I have just had a phone call from a lady in America looking for Flora Muslin Veitch, on the 1901 census her address was listed as 12 Bath Passage, Birmingham. Has any one got any information of this family on the 1911 census or any where ealse. Thanks Ann :422:

in Edmonton ( Essex, Herfordshire , Middlesex )

Only Birth registered for Flora Muslin was in Birmingham ,
Reg in Sept Quarter 1909.
Ref: 6d-180
(Maiden name of Mother not given on transcriptions until Sept Q 1911 )

If this is her she will not be on 1901 Census ,
but should be on 1911 Census with parents on website - Find my past .

1939 electoral roll has a Flora Veitch at 37 Great Lister Street, Duddeston
The only ones I can find in 1911 (and 1901) is Flora Ada Veitch in London

Thanks a lot folks I knew you would come up trumps. As I said a lady named Tina Paul phoned out of the blue from America. She wanted to know if we(my husband) had any descendants by the name of Flora Muslin Veitch, it was one of those phone calls no one expects, and I almost put the phone down thinking it was some one trying to sell something, she said Flora was born in sept. 1909 and the address was 12 Bath Passage Birmingham, the date ties in with one of the dates you have given me, Then she said her (Tina,s) mother had been adopted at birth July 1935, and there was no fathers name on the birth certificate. I told her i would put her Query on this web site and to phone back next saturday and i would let her know of any answers.
My husband isn,t really interested in ancestry so I have never tried to trace his roots, and I dont think I would know where to start, his Father up and left a good few years ago so theres no way of finding any information, He,s most probably dead by now but we don,t know when or when, he just went out one day and never returned all the usual searches were done, but i guess he just didn,t want to be found.
Just as a point of interest if any one has any anscestors who ever lived in Badsey Worcestershire look on the Badsey.org site, that is one fantastic site, I traced my paternal Grandmothers family right back to the 1700,s on that sight, even if you have no family from that part of Worcestershire it is worth a look. Pity theres not a few more sights like it.

Sorry Not sure if I have fully understood your post.
Regarding Tina's Mother who was put up for adoption was her Mother Flora Veitch ?

Your husbands family linage can be researched.
Starting point the date of birth of his father , or an estimated year of birth.
We are all here to help. if need be.

Your husband may even be related to Tina.

Bo, (I can,t understand it myself.) :headhit: Flora Muslin was born in Birmingham sept. 1909. She married John E Veitch, in Edmonton March 1931. They came back to Birmingham and had a son Phillip D Veitch Sept. 1934.
According to Tina her Mother was born July 19th 1935. Her name was Louise (DAVIES whether that was her married name or her adopted name?)
I,m not sure whether she just wants to find the name of her Mothers , Father or if she wants to go further back, and who was she referring to as living at 12 Bath Passage on the 1901 census.
As for my Husbands family all I can tell you is, his Fathers name was Andrew and I think he was born in Birmingham about 1910 +/- a couple of years, I don,t know if he had any brothers or sisters, the only relative I knew of was on his Mothers side, her name was Ivy ?

Mikejee, where did you find that list from? most of them seem centred around Acocks Green/Hall Green, and I noticed a couple in London, could be Tina,s relations. Its not a very common name theres only 5 listings in the phone book.

They are all extracted from Birmingham directories in order of year (in bold). If by london you meant charlotte st, that is in birmingham in hockley
