Brings back so many memories, can anyone remember if there was a handbag shop next door, I think it was the shop next to this pub that I used to longing look through the window while waiting for Dad to come out of the pub, how I wish those days where still here so much has changed.

It was about 64-68 I think it could have been a separates shop which also sold handbags I had a lovely black suede duffle bag that I had saved weeks for, needles to say Dad made the money up for me, After he came out of the pub, bless him.

I worked there for nearly 5 years, from leaving school until I got married in 1972, I was a jewellery case liner, they also did clocks.

crikey sue our paths could easily have crossed then.. as office junior i was always being sent out and about the jewellery quarter to different firms to take jewellery to them on appro...that was of course after making the tea..typing up the invoices and appro orders..fetching sarnies from the cafe..taking the post to key hill post office...the list is endless but i loved it...its a small world..

Sue

Some great old pubs Lyn, like you I feel so sad to such great places, once so full of laughter and fun, so dead or gone completely. Paul

Sue, you might find this picture familiar. I would have taken it between a year before or a year after you left.
