Can anyone name the Pub that was situated approximately half way up the Bull Ring hill. It was situated on the right hand side, looking up the Bull Ring with the Church at your back. I'm talking around 1938.

Roy, that would most likely be The Comet.

Hi Lyn,
Put the picture of that pub under my magnifier and it looks like it is on the corner of New John Street West, not sure which corner, is that of any help?

Thank you ' Phil ' and thank you ' Brumgum'.
The reason that I've been looking for info about this Bull Ring pub is because around the period 1938 , I was taken to this pub by my parents who where relatives or friends of the pub ' gaffer ' at that time, I think his name was Billy Brown. It's this bit that I remember most. In the early evening I was put to bed upstairs with my younger brother , both getting bored
up there we had a gander out of the bedroom window, we could see some sort of ' scrap yard 'area at the back. We where
fascinated by the number of Rats that where hunting around in this area amongst the scrap.
Phil: The name ' The Comet' must be right enough although I swear it had another name at the time I was there.
Brumgum: That photo shows the location for sure.
Thank you both again.

Hi again Lyn,
Oops, did not read all the message, just looked at the picture, you already know it is on the corner of New John Street West, sorry about that.

Roy,

Then it might have been The Lion & Lamb at number 17 a little further up the High Street than The Comet at number 5.

Phil: I think you've got it. My memory recognises that name ( Lion and Lamb ) in relationship to my original question.
The map tops it off I think. Well done.
