Iam trying to find out anything i can about the attached photograph. it was amongst many photographs belonging to our family.Does any one recognize the badges? Is it ww1 or the Boar war?

Here is the Photograph which I have had problems in attaching to my first thread.
 
I can now establish that he was a Sergeant in the Royal Scots. below is an example of his collar badges. However I cannot give you an idea of what period it was taken. ie pre Boer War or pre WW1.
