Hello. I've just joined the forum and saw your post. (I even tried to reply before my account had been activated! How keen is that? :D)
Anyway, my maiden name is Tysall and although my Grandad was from Rugby and my Great Grandad from Thames Ditton in Surrey, I have traced my Tysall ancestors back as far as 1575 and was surprised to find that they come from the Birmingham area! (Coleshill, Erdington, Aston, Sutton and so on). They were in Aston as early as 1642 and for a long time in the 1700's & 1800's. They were metal workers - several of them steel toy makers! And as the Tysall name is a rare one, stands a chance that our families are connected!! :smile2:
I'm not quite sure how we exchange information through the forum as I'm new to this, but I just thought I'd make the initial contact and see where we go from there.
My Grandad's name was Wilfred Horace Tysall, his father was Percy and his father James. It was James' parents Thomas Tysall & Emma Peers who moved away from Birmingham where they had married in 1840. James was born in London.
Anyway I could go on and on, but I won't. Be good to hear from you!
Joan (Andrew - nee Tysall)

My maternal grandmother married under the surname Tysall so if anyone is looking for the birth records of Ada Selina Tysall try looking for Ada Selina Wassall. She was born early 1886, was illiegitmate, had an older brother Walter Wassall b 1884.

A couple of months after Ada was born, her mother (Sarah Ann Maria Wassall) married a William Arthur Tysall. I have no idea whether or not William was father to either child but my grandmother married under the surname Tysall and listed him as her father on her marriage cert.

I knew Anthony 9Tony) Tysall and his rather nice sister Shirley in the late 70's when they both worked in the Canteen at Triplex Safety Glass in King's Norton .Birmingham. They were about 26 and 21 respectively. Tony moved on to a senior role in Compass Catering, But I expect him to be well retired by now. They were great days; I often wonder what happened to the Cleaner, Debbie Lewis, too.
