Treaford Lane Ward End

Does anyone know the history of the bungalows built in Treaford Road. There are 7 and stand alone in an area of smaller houses. Were they built for someone special?.

James, sorry can't help you with the bungalows, but you will find it's Treaford Lane not Rd. In times past I have walked up and down that lane many times, and I have to admit I don't think I have ever noticed those bungalows.

Yes, Treaford Lane, where the "Welfare" baby clinic used to be in the 50s. Had many a cold wet walk up there with my baby brother in his pram.

Does anybody have a picture of the Old Treaford Hall which stood where the welfare clinic is now

Also, any idea who live there prior to it being demolished. There is a rumour of a Biddell family living there not long before it was demolished. Any clues would be much appreciated.
