Tracing School Records

Hallo from Canada!

Im a Brummie born and bred for 35 years then emigrated to Canada with my husband 47 years ago.

Im tracing my Family tree, and would love to find out what school my Dad went to. He was killed in W.W.2 when I was a baby. He grew up in Kings Norton whilst school age, in Monyhull Hall Road. Would anyone have any idea what school he might have attended please, and is it possible to trace school records? He would have attended from the years 1917 onwards. He did not go on for further education, and have no idea what year he left school.

His name was:
Arthur Daniel Hartwell a.k.a Richard

Thank you

Looking at the maps there doesn't seem to be much around Monyhull Hall Road at that time. Closest I think were a school on the corner of Kings Heath High St and Institute Road, and one in Stirchley between Charlecote Road and Pershore Road.

They are not named on the 1917 map but on the 1950 map they are named as Kings Heath Primary School and Stirchley Schools. If they were the names in 1917 I don't know.

However his father, assuming he was also Arthur Daniel Hartwell, appears to be listed at King St (Highgate ?) in 1922.

Thank you so much for your help,it was very much appreciated.
My father was fostered by relatives as his mother passed away shortly after he was born, (January 1913 ) I had forgotten the foster family had, according to the 1911 Census were living at 118 Kings Road Kings Heath Birmingham, but
have no idea when they had moved to Monyhull Hall Road. Is there a possibility that Kings St. Could be mistaken for King's Road?

William & Ruth Waddup (sister of Arthur's grandmother) are at 187 Monyhull Hall Road in 1939. The first map it appears on is 1937. It's not on the 1920 map which is the previous, so would have been built between them.

Broadmeadow Primary is within walking distance of 187 on the 1950 map but is not there in 1937.

There is a listing for a William Waddup on the 1912 electoral roll at 5 King St, Arthur Hartwell was at no 6 in 1922.

I think King's Road and King's St are different roads.

I did some research myself last night and thank you for your help.
The Arthur Daniel Hartwell on King Street is my Grandfather! not my father. From what I have learned my father, also Arthur Daniel, just a newborn babe, was taken from his father to be cared for by his great aunt after his mother passed away. I believe he never returned to live with his father
The names of the relatives were William and Ruth Waddup, and lived in Kings Road, Kings Heath. My father grew up with the family from 1913 (when he was born ), but have no idea how long? I assume until he went to work? I have no idea how to trace him through school records until I have some idea which school or schools were in the vicinity of King's Road, Kings Heath.
I do appreciate all your help, and thank you!
