Much better than the russian maps previously mentioned , Old maps now gives access to the 1:500 Town paln maps. these were only available for some towns, but Birmingham is on e such, though you have to remember that the borders were a bit more confined then. the northern border of the maps is approx at the Hockley Brook around burbury st for example. Go to https://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html, pinpoint exact area on map, click, and then clickon relevent map button at the right hand side.
