Thanks Lyn once again for posting them Regards Pete

Lyn, I feel sure the lady, second from the left is my gran and the one in the middle front, looks just like my auntie Elsie. The man on the far left is named Ted Maiden, I remember him so well. Thanks both for reposting them
Lynne.

lynne was your nan a guest because pete said there is a mrs guest on the pic...

yes Lyn my gran was named Guest, she lived in that yard till they were demolished. I never heard them called courts, always yards.

Thanks Lyn. Glad that lynne has a photo of her nan and aunt. I also remember a lady we called Clarkie who lived up ont right hand side of the yard she used to look after use when mom was at work at martin billings ? a printers in hospital street or when she was working at a brush makers down newtown row ????.

Regards Pete

Pete, I remember Beatie Clarke, I think she looked after all the kids while the moms worked. My mom worked at Cannings making brushes, I wonder if thats where your mom worked as well.
Lynne

Hi Lynne, That is sounds like her there was always some one in there .. She used to do use pikelets on her toasting fork in front of her coak fire. I rememeber she used to roll her own fags too but as soon a she took a drag on the fag she would cough and bark like an old steam engine Ha Ha .She was agreat old stick.
MY mom told me she ended up in the work house up by Winson Green Prison ( All Saints I Think ) Don't know if that was true.. As for the brush's my Mom would work for any body to earn a bob or two she even worked for Lucas Great Hamton Street on the 5 till 9 shift ..

Would any one know the name of the Pub Or was it an out door on the corner of Tower Street and Hospital Street, I think it was an Akinson's Pub as it had a Monarch of the Glen type Stage etched into the front door glass..

Regards Pete..

According to Kelly's the pub on the corner of Tower Street Hospital St was the St Georges Tavern. This is a rather poor photo, that looks as if it has been photocopied once too often.
