TIMMINS, John

whiteheather

proper brummie kid
Please could anyone give me info on John Timmins born 1770, I dont know if he was born in Birmingham but I know he married a Ann Wilde in 1795 in Kingswinford, Ann was born in 1770 they had a daughter Sarah Timmins born 1800 and died in Aston in 1867, there is a possibility she had a sister Ann born 1797 I think Sedgley but I dont know where that is. thankyou Heather

Re: John Timmins

Hi Heather,
There is a possible match on 1841 census - the first one recorded - with a John Thmmins aged 71, born in Staffordshire living in Sedgley piece 998 book2 folio 26page 20. On the actual census copy, there are also Sarah Timmins age 73 and mary aged 11, Ann 14 and Jonas 3, but as the info is limited, no idea of how they could be related.
Will try to do some more trawling!
Sue
Sedgeley is in the Black Country, by Tipton and Dudley, but was in Staffordshire then, as was Kingswinford, also in the same area.

Re: John Timmins

Hi thanks for info. I know Sarah died age 67 as she was my gr.gr.gr. grandmother and married to Charles edwin Mayfield. that seems to be the right age for John Timmins, I find the place names very confusing the only place my grandad talked about was Aston as that is where he was born, then he married moved to Luton and acquired the nickname Brummie Mayfield
