Hi all , yes I know that I have asked before but has anyone got any Tile Cross Pictures from pre 1970,s. Anne B had some and before I could open them she left the site.....its just that I gre up there so its of big interst to me....cheers.

A bit late but I came across this one of Tile Cross Road. No date I'm afraid but looks like pre 1950s? Not sure which part of Tile Cross Road but would guess its near the East Meadway / Cookes Lane End towards Tile Cross where I used to catch the 165 bus home from school in the 60s.

I would say more 1930s, looking at the houses and their design and also the unmade road, no blacktop or kerbs, could even be late 1920s.

It looks as though it was taken from the sharp bend, looking towards Tile Cross island/Bell Lane. Tile Cross Surgery would on the right, just out of view.

I lived at bottom of this road (101) by round about for bus 14.circ 1950s went to Tile Cross inf.jun. School./SirWilf.Mart.Yes,no proper pavements until much later, outskirts of the area all fields and woods, sadly all houses now
