I've been trying to trace any information about my grandfather Thomas Walter Reason.
I am told he was imprisoned in Birmingham Jail in the late 1920's - early 30's.
he was married to Alice Croyden.
My mother was born in St Martins in 1919, her name was Doris. She had two sisters, Eva and Mollie. A brother called George.
The children were abandoned by Alice and as a result ended up in Middlemore homes in Birmingham.
the children were split up and my mum sent to Australia, on her own aged about 12. The boy was adopted and Molly sent to Canada. Eva remained in the UK and had a family (Lloyd)
In Australia these were known as the Lost Children. Mum never returned to England and died aged 86.
Thomas Walter Reason was never heard from again.
I beleive he was born in Ireland, and possibly seved in WW1. he was a lorry driver.
Any info on his life and death would be very much appreciated.
Best wishes from Perth Western Australia
