I once asked a retired policeman if it is possible to look up old number plates to see who once owned a vehicle and he told me that no such database existed. A pity, as it would be another good resource for us to look back and see the kind of lifestyle people were enjoying [or enduring] back in the day. I think this is a Ford Prefect and it is parked outside the White House in 1957. Makes you wonder if it was the publican’s motor?Unett-Street-Ford-Prefect.jpg

Thanks Lyn! I am looking forward to finding my way round the forum. I will have a look for the pics later and yes, photos certainly are an insight into our history!

Right, I have had a quick look and have found these:
Royal wedding at The White House!
Does anyone recognise anyone in the pictures?
I have the red and white stripey top, and I remember the small boy at the front being called "Little John"
