I took this yesterday on the way home from Key Hill Cemetery. The pub is on the corner of New John Street West and Unett Street North.

I wonder does anyone have an early photo of this pub.:)

Oh now you have brought back memories. I used the White House at lunchtimes when I worked at Lucas GKS. There used to be a youngish couple run it then and they were great. Then an older couple took it over with aspirations to take the food side upmarket. The man was someone who probably should have been kept away from dealing with the public as he had an odd way of dealing with folk. Upshot was that many of his Lucas regulars decided to stop going there. I arrived one Thursday to find I was one of only half a dozen Lucas regulars and he was left with a rather large amount of soup and stuff that went unwanted. He later left run the bar at a Golf Club but it did not last long as he clashed with the club members.

Oh and sorry no I have no photos just many memories.

Wendy - I am almost sure that Lyn posted an old photograph of the White House on a previous thread? Mabz

Does anyone recall the alternative name for either the pub or the lounge bar?
