The Sherwood - Yardley Wood / Hall Green

Work took me to Shirley on Tuesday so I went a little off-piste into Yardley Wood. My objective was to take a look at the site of the former Warstock Inn as I have taken an interest in its story. However, I came along Highfield Road so took a few photographs of The Sherwood, now trading as D.J. Quinn's. Apologies for the quality - I was only armed with my phone. The building is where Yardley Wood and Hall Green collide, both of course once being in the ancient parish of Yardley. The Sherwood was a Holt's pub and their trademark squirrel is still visible on the building. Anyway, I thought I would post these pictures - perhaps some folks who called in here in the old days can share a memory or two .....

When I got my first photo of it on Highfield Road, Yardley Wood, it was the Behan's Bar. Late December 2011.
