i am trying to confirm that there was a pub in brearley st or brealey st west called the nelson inn. ive looked in my 56 kellys and it wasnt there then so i am assuming it must have been pulled down before then. im only taking a stab at 1939

according to 1913 Kelly's The Nelson Inn was at 299 Brearley St and the Landlord was a Mr Thomas Keay. From what I deduce the pub was on the corner of Well St and Brearley St (see map)

it's there in Kellys 1921 and as gone by 1932 could do with a couple of Kelly's to fill this gap

many thanks john and pmc. that has helped a great deal. someone i know said one of his ancestors ran this pub but thought is was just chit chat. i will have to ask him his last name. i have been on the birmingham pub site but unless i am doing something wrong i can only see pictures of a few pubs.. the nelson inn is listed but i cant get a picture up. thanks again
