This image shows the rest of the small row of houses, the pub is on the left hand side, opposite Scribbans bakery.

and it brought back memories of the old familys that was around there
the house to the left of the pub directly next to the pub the old smoke room, which you see was in fact where i done some courting in with my
old dutchess is her oldest sisters house , madeline brown ,it was her
first marrige , and her first house she ever lived in for years it was a very small house then she moved down to devonshire street ,

HI LYNN
I LYNN , I Had ALOT Of Connections In One Way Or Another With Alot Of Pubs
In And Around The Country In Fact Walsall . Cheltam, Bristol , London, And Most Cerainly B,ham Area, If My MemoryServesMe Rightly The Next Pub Down From The Hyde Down On The Oppersite Side Of The Road Going Down The Hill TowardsThe Flat ,And It Was A Dirty Brown Tiled Pub And Only Small Was A Pub Called The Fireman ,
Which Actualy Took More Than The Hydedraulic A VERY THRIVING Little Earner They
More Often Sat In GatheringsWith There Stools Out side There Was A Terrace Right Next Door With The Little Houses And There Must HaveBeen At Least Thirty Or Forty Back To Back Hoses Up There ButMost People Came FromPark Rd . Abbey Rd
Ford Street And There Was Never Any Fighting Going On And The Old Joe Anner Was Always Playing If You Went The Other Way I Think The First Pub You Would Have Come To Was The Devonshire Arms aND As You Walk Up The Hill Just Before You Got To Baccuss Rd There Was Another Pub WhichJust Escapes My Memory But An Old Freind Of Mine Lived Next Door To The Pub Was The Reynolds And The Kings Family
And Of Course The Very Last One Was The Old Eagle ,Which Holds Memories As Well.
OnceAgain Lynn Thanks For The Memory ,Best Wishes ASTONIAN ,;;;;

Just guessing, but does the name Hydraulic cone from the lifts in the old GWR goods yard, which I remember lifted and / or dropped loaded goods wagons between levels? Otherwise, perhaps it was after some equipment in Scribban's Bakery, but that doesn't seem likely to me.
