Hi Astonian,

If you mean the Good Companions on the Coventry Road at Sheldon it has been closed for years. For some time it was a Harry Ramsden Fish and Chip Restaurant but that also closed some years ago.

HI terry and bernie
many thanks for informing me about beddows i am totally surprized to hear that
after all the years the generations of the family have finaly finished the bussiness i know there was a younger son whom i thiought would have carried the bussines on, i personaly think its a crying shame thats happenend
you say they have been taken over by another family or some-one else .
i wonder if the quaility is still the same as the beddows family gave ,it very hard to find an good
chippie thes days ,despite you read in the news paper of a local chippie
winning an award for the chipie of the year nonsence
i have been in these shops where the banner above there shops stating there so called awards
and found there chipie rubbish ,and i neve ev go back again
i think its sad that the beddows family bussiness as ended there reign and the era of there fish and chips
bussines they was globarel well known
thanks guys for your information
have a nice day best wishes Astonian;;;

the ivy leaf ex service is still running as i am planning to come down next week

Astonian, Yardley Ex-Servicemans Club is still going strong , the Ivy Leaf Club owed thousands of £`s to the Carlsberg company who closed the the club down and got their money back, it is now open as a private club with higher subscription charges. Len.

Alan, just found out the Horse Shoes is closed due to the sudden death of the licensee.
