Can anyone help with a query relating to The Golden Cup PH which i believe was located on Sams Lane in West Bromwich?

I am trying to find out about the landlord/occupants in the 1920/30's.

There appear to be two Golden Cups in West Bromwich in that period (and one that seems to have “died" before that period)

Landlords in that period were:

Golden Cup, Cross St West Bromwich

1911-1925 William Smith
1925-1929 Mrs Clara Smith
1929-1932 Samuel Charles Kendrick
1932-1936 Charles Hickman
1936-1937 Mrs Elizabeth Hickman
1937-1938 John Henry Quantick
1938-1947 John Absalom Robins

The owners in 1924 were Arnold & Bates Ltd, and in 1929 Darby’s Brewery Ltd

Golden Cup , Great Bridge St

1917-1922 Thomas Clarie

1923-1934 William Holden Simeon Best
1934-1936 Lottie Best
1936-1937 Sydney Cooper

Hello Mike,

Great work as usual, the cross street pub is the one i was looking for.

My Mother was brought up in that establishment by her Grandparents
way back in the early twenties.

Not only have you confirmed the pub name but also my Great Grandparents names and possible dates of death.
