Hello and thanks for taking the time to click on this message and read it...
I am trying to connect with people who are related to my ancestors and would be interested in sharing knowledge/research with linked folks...
My Gamesons that I know of are...
GENERATION 7
HANNAH MARIA GAMESON B C1821, Married Henry Hancox in 1844, a Maltster. Had 5 children and died 1903 in Erdington.
Ann GAMESON b 1824-5; Married William Elkington, a Grocer in 1851 - I would love to find out details of her children and when she and William died if anyone knows...
Frederick John GAMESON b 1828; He followed father into cabinet making business in the Digbeth, Deritend area. I cannot find any mention of a marriage/death for this person... It's like he disappeared after the 1851 census apart from a mention in his fathers will of 1871.
GENERATION 8
JOHN GAMESON B 1792 BRENTFORD or BREWOOD.
Married Hannah Nicholls in 1812 in Edgbaston. They had 3 children (above)
I believe Hannah died in 1853 (awaiting death certificate) and John remarried in 1855 in Worcester (awaiting marriage certificate). John married Cornelia Williams, sister of John and William Williams... Born 1800 in Worcestershire and died 1877 in Aston.
John set up several chair/cabinet making businesses in Camp Hill, Digbeth and Deritend areas. Was a City Alderman of Birmingham c 1850-1870 and a philanthropist, who set up the Penn Street Industrial School. :!:
He died 1871 at 9 Henley Street, Birmingham and was followed by Cornelia some six years later.
I believe John was survived by all three children as all are mentioned as beneficiaries of his will in 1871.
Can anyone help me fill in some gaps...? Would love to hear from anyone with links, pics or info...
Sue
