The France and Germany Star Medal amongst some of my mother’s memorabilia.

It would probably be one of my mother’s two brothers. One went through North Africa and on to Italy where he lost his right arm. I think he received the África Star, but it’s whereabouts are unknown. The other brother was with the first British contingent to enter Belsen, and he stayed in Germany for about a year after the war finished. It is not known what his role was.

It was awarded to British commonwealth forces who fought in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands or Germany plus adjacent sea areas between 6 June 1944 and 8 May 1945 according to a google search.
