The Isle Of Man and Bham and the midlands have had a long association with motorcycles the first TT started 107 yrs ago today the first 2 bikes to start were Triumph singles ridden by Jack Marshall and Frank Hulbert. The race was won by Charlie Collier on a Matchless in 4hs8m at an average speed of 38.23mph (Charlie was the son of Henry Collier who started matchless in 1899) that was the start of along relationship between Bham and IOM.Norton Triumph Ariel velocette BSA sunbeam just a few that spring to mind an not forgetting a son of Bham who came from Aston and set many new lap records and won many times Wal Handley rip
 
Went to the IOM in 1949 to the Manks Grand Prig Watched at Craignyba Ernie Lyons won the race.. Stared at No12 and had passed everyone else who set out before him Great Memories
 
It could be we were both in I.O.M.watching the T.T.in 1949 Joe.I went the year year Geoff Duke won the senior for the first time.
