Hi,

Rather in the distant past, but I am seeking confirmation that there was a pub named 'The Dog and Partridge' in Alcester Street, (near the present day B12 OPY post code) in the year 1870.

Thank you.

Posted this initially without thinking, but this was in Moseley St. I took of it in around 1972. Alcester st details in post 4 below

Apologies, that one was in Moseley St, close but not correct. The Alcester Road Dog & Partridge is listed in directories at no 17 Alcester St under that name from at least 1845. It may not have been the same building as in later years however

The Dog & Partridge Alcester Street would have disappeared years ago, the site is now under the Peugeot Dealership that fronts Deritend High Street. It would have been toward the High Street diagonaly opposite the Spotted Dog on the corner of Warwick St. The photo is roughly where the pub would have stood.
