I am curious about the name and building of the Court Oak pub on Court Oak road in Harborne.
Firstly- I wonder if anyone has any information as to whether the ground or near ground of the premises was a local court spot where people were maybe hung from the grand oak?
Secondly- In the beer garden at the back, if you look at the upstairs of the building you will see some unusual features. There are 2 floors but there seems to be a 3rd floor on part of a tower. The tower is an extra bit of building that I assume is a staircase that leads up stairs, but it continues up like a wide block chimney and has a small slit window at the top. Does anyone know why and what it was for? Its been troubling me for years!!!
