The Causeway Yardley

Strange little path of Church Rd , Yardley - no more (but on Street View) as Tesco sits there that lead to recreation area .Was it always like this or were there houses/properties on the Causeway -(seems odd to name a path with a road name)

It was a short road leading to a sports area and some houses. In c 1888 on map it is just a stub to one house and not named, but Church Lane is called Long Causeway

On the 1851 census there are about 14 houses with 'The Causeway Yardley' as their address.

maybe what is marked as "Long causway2 on the map was usually referred to as Causeway.
