hi john... the caption definately says the camp tavern.. we need a kellys look up and my bro has got my 56 one. mind you that would be no good if it was demolished before then...a pre 1950 kellys would be of more use...
o crikey john what have i started..lol....the caption also says the place next door is birchfield upholstery... i wonder if you could look that up to try and weedle it down.

the name of the pub is lamp tavern, & is near to lawley st end
on the same side of the road as the co-op its number is 23-25, as stated in 1941 kellys dir. I hope this helpsa little, terry ward

the two shops each side of the lamp 21 & 27 where both run by the same person. A mrs susannah robinson.
21 was a fancy draper - 27 a sweet shop, terry ward
I learned a long time back that not all photo's, especially those in local history books are correctly titled. I think it comes of the publisher and author placing too much faith in researchers findings.
I still get caught out now, especially if it is a photo of an area that I do not know well myself.
phil.. you are quite right. as i relative newbie to obtaining pics i am fast learning this...and rely on others who have knowledge of certain areas to correct any i post that may be incorrect as i hate giving folk the wrong info...
