The Birmingham Boys and Girls Union

Michael_Ingram

gone but not forgotten
I have recently bought this badge on a brique braque stall in Wales. Can anyone provide any information about the Union please?
There is no marking on the back of the badge

Michael, As someone who used to go to Manor Farm with the Ragged Robins (From Seven Street) I know a bit about the kids I hung around with and years later I learnt more about their lives The mission for the poor was in Deritend and the kids night shelter was in Bradford St...
I know there was a childrens service union in Deritend ...if I remember right and I think if you Look up Liz Green who helped a lot of the poor folk you might get the answer you are looking for

Michael ...Just been corrected by my Granddaughter and told not to talk in slang so you should look for Elizabeth Green.....Kids....!

I have just searched(Manor Farm) and this is the only link where I have seen it mentioned(Cromwells Post). Can anyone tell me where it was? As small children,we were taken there for a day out, either by St Georges junior school or church, but I havent a clue where it was.
Maurice.
