The barrell pub soho rd

Astonian

gone but not forgotten
Hi pub crawlers
i have been told just recently that the red lion as closed down and boarded up which was a crime
but can some-one tell me wether the little barrell pub
more or less on the oppersite side of the rd is still open and trading please i think if i remember correctly the no 11 bus stops out side the pub on soho rd i used to drink in there , and deliver milk there when i worked around the handsworth area for
midland counties dairies many years ago we used to do a pub crawl every week end when i was single we would start at constitution hill up the soho rd around to the grove
into the barrel and every pub up the main drag into west brom
and finish at the star and garter on the old high st
then we would end p in the continal club till six in the morning
i would drink a barley wine all night and become sober and straight into work at moland st .the barrell was a decent little pub in those days best wishes astonian ;;
