Just got internet back after nation wide Optus outage for 7 hours. Mobile phones still out affecting half of the population. Thank you Birmingham History Forum for the most wonderful family history tracing journey. I have not only got more results than expected (original enquiry was for one brick wall) but I have learnt so much about interrogating the historical files and the importance of reading the original documents if possible as transcribers get it wrong. And original Parish enterers get it wrong. Those present were often illiterate so couldn't check. The results are an immediate improvement in my Wikitree entries but the education I received will be lasting. Special thanks to Lyn, Janice and MWS.

Thank you for your courtesy, Garry. It doesn't always happen!

The main thrust of the Forum has always been the collection and sharing of aspects of the history of Birmingham - people, places, events and so on - and we always welcome any additions to that. So, if in the future you discover information of general interest about the life in the City of the ancestors you are researching, do please remember to post it here. It will be welcomed.

I like the idea of a brummie, the centre of world's industrial revolution. Yes my family has stayed in Brisbane since Walter George Ison immigrated from Birmingham area in late 1800s. Two generations below me born in Brisbane as well.
