Test Importing Postcards

They unfornately don't seem as clear as I would like.

Picture 1 is of St. James Church, Handsworth - post marked 8.8.1911
Next is a photograph of Bull Street, Birmingham post marked 8.8.1916 or could be 1906 not too sure.
The last one if High Street, Sutton Coldfield post marked 4.8.1909.

Focus is the problem with photographing photos - has your camera got a 'close up' or 'portrait' setting? Keep trying, it's the best way to learn!

Jules,

As mentioned by Lloyd 'focusing' is most important. Most digital cameras have a macro setting (usually like a little flower icon) You may find it easier to rest the camera on a table in Portrait position and shoot the postcard standing up lent against a box, that way you will be able to fill the viewfinder/screen. Once the image has been captured you can turn it Landscape if needed.

Jules, try using the practice area, but it is difficult to photograph postcards, they never seem to be in focus.
Still don't give up, you'll get there.
