Does anyone know if it is possible to find out about teachers we had at school. Is there somewhere you can go to see if they are still around etc. I left school in 1959 so its a long time ago but we are trying to find some teachers for our school reunions.
Thank you

Have you tried friends re-united, very often teachers as well as pupils make postings for thier particular schools

Hi, l left Nansen Rd Secondary in 1959. Do you have details of reunions? I was in forms 1.1 to 4.1. I remember all the teachers, but wouldn't think they're still alive, except maybe the younger ones. I was Janet Chittleborough, l lived in College Road.

Hello Jan
Its been a long time (10 years) since I put that message on. We used to have reunions but they have stoped now as we all live in different parts of the country. I can remember your name but not your face. I was in Miss Prices class in the 4th year and then the shorthand typing class. We did have a really good education at Nansen Road and the teachers were great. I am sure theres none alive now. Altho another group who had reunions invited two elderly teachers and they did go. One was the cookery teacher.

Hi Wendy, had you used to work at the Post Office Telegram service with Sandra Smith and Brenda Gameson. If I have the wrong person I'm sorry but I saw some of your earlier posts and had a guess. I knew you all from the Met Cafe my name was Jack.

Hi Jack,
Sandra Smith was my best friend before we left school. She then went to Manchester to train for the Telegraphy job and we lost touch. I would love to hear from her if anyone knows where she is. I don't know Brenda Gameson, did she go to Nansen Road? Where was the Met Café. I cant remember the name. We all used to go up the Rock to the cafes that the Cypriots opened when they came over. We used to jive round the juke box and buy one froffyy coffee all night! Did you live locally?
Wendy

I didn't live in the area but had friends who did, Sandra worked at the GPO telegram office in town and her two workmates were Brenda and Wendy, so, when I saw her name in your posts I assumed you were the same person, regards, Jack.

Oh, so Sandra came back to Birmingham to live? Who were your friends in the Rock area, perhaps I know them? You didn't say where the Met café was. I cant think of it at all.

The Met Cafe was opposite the Metro-Cammel works by a Bank; I think Sandra was only about 17yrs old so I don't think she'd been away, she lived in Ash Rd with her parents, John.
