Astonian I'm going to get mysel more of a bad name for saying this but we are meating Ken at the New Inns on Friday. Will ask him if he knows or if not find out. It was his sister Sissy who gave me the information but that is as much as she knows. He is also bringing more photo's of Bill Eggison from Park lane the swimmer. I will then post them. Bye. GGJ.

Astonian, there was a cafe on the corner of Park Lane/Upper Sutton Street, opposite The Eagle pub. It was there at least into the 1960s to my knowledge.

Jean, there was a coalyard next door to Robinsons cafe, owned by Bertha Egginson - any relation to your swimmer friend?
