There's a mention of a Swiss Cottage, Clement(s) Road, Yardley in the Bham Mail Nov 1913. Nothing appears to be labelled on the map but there are some buildings at southern end, one of which might be it.
A serious outrage in Clements Road, half-way between the Swiss Cottages and the Retreat, which stands at the junction of Blakesley Road and Stewart Road. (Present Stuart Road)
1908.
If you go to Google and get the AI version, it says that Swiss Cottage is not a single place but an area containing a number of places. Specific to Birmingham/Yardley.
On the 1911 and 1921 censuses Swiss Cottages come immediately after Ivydene (see above post). There seem to be 3 of them. The next properties listed are Yardley Cottage and Yardley House (which I think is at the very bottom of the map in post #2).
Adding to MWS’s map in post 2, OS Map Revised 1903 shows the cottages. There does not seem any other dwelling between it and The Retreat at the other end of Clements Road.
By 1913 other dwellings start to appear.
